چکیده

Abstract Fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT) is an effective therapy for treating recurrent C. difficile infection. However, the FMT mechanism of action poorly understood, and implementation limited. A previous study from our lab identified a critical role CD4+ FoxP3+ regulatory T cells (Treg) in enabling engraftment subsequent resolution Here, we investigated cellular cytokine network regulated by Treg to support FMT-mediated On day FMT, infected mice have increased IL10+ colon compared uninfected mice. Further, depleted IL10 its signaling pathway are defective resolving following mirroring observation Treg-depleted FoxP3-DTR The depletion difficile-infected induces robust type 1 immune response characterized IFNγ producing Th1 innate lymphoid cells. This drives infiltration iNOS+ neutrophils into large intestine. Furthermore, neutralization Tregs decreases intestine, resolve Last, restores efficacy difficile. Combined, provide which serve as negative regulator IFNγ-neutrophil intestinal inflammatory circuit, thereby supporting colonic environment be receptive These results mechanistic example how immunity can dictate microbiome-based therapies. Step-up fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT) strategy

Gut dysbiosis is a characteristic of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and is believed to play a role in the pathogenesis of IBD. Fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT) is an effective strategy to restore intestinal microbial diversity and has been reported to have a potential therapeutic value in IBD. Our recent study reported a holistic integrative therapy called "step-up FMT strategy," which ...

Ethical aspects of Fecal Microbiota Transplantation (FMT).

The importance of human microbiota in preserving human organism healthy is nowadays well acknowledged. The alteration of the microbiota can be the consequence of a persistent use of antibiotics or immunosuppressive medications or abdominal irradiation or surgery, wrong diet, or can be caused by surgery or anatomical condition. These alterations can cause many infections and diseases that today ...

Oral, frozen fecal microbiota transplant (FMT) capsules for recurrent Clostridium difficile infection

BACKGROUND Fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT) has been shown to be safe and effective in treating refractory or relapsing C. difficile infection (CDI), but its use has been limited by practical barriers. We recently reported a small preliminary feasibility study using orally administered frozen fecal capsules. Following these early results, we now report our clinical experience in a large c...

TREATMENT OF OBESITY BY IMPROVING THE METABOLISM OF OBESE PEOPLE BY FECAL MICROBIOTA TRANSPLANTATION (FMT) AND FECAL CAPSULES (SYSTEMATIC REVIEW)

Background: Over the past half-century, the prevalence of obesity and related metabolic disorders such as fat disorders, cardiovascular disease, myocardial infarction and stroke have increased dramatically. Various types of organisms, including bacteria, fungi, protozoan, and viruses, have evolved to live in the human gut, called microbiota. Scientists have found that thin people have a balance...
